Burns' Supper Goes West to Chemainus BC for 2003

Final arrangements are now seemingly in place for a star studded Burns' Supper and Concert at The Chemainus Theatre in British Columbia on January 25th.

When Prestoungrange was granted The Key to the City by The Mayor in Chemainus in 2001 he promised to return and celebrate Burns' Night with them all in 2003. Under the leadership of Anne Wills, the Baron's elder sister, a magnificent event is in the making.

Anne built from her contacts as Treasurer to the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Society and persuaded a retiring Canadian diplomat cum actor cum Welshman, Terry Jones, to become the evening's Producer and Director....and the menu is as shown below.

Dolphinstoun will be joining Prestoungrange and Lady Prestoungrange so will Sylvia, Baron Sergeand and Anne Taylor, Arts Festival General Manger in Prestonpans. The Clan will have five other family members in attendance from Washington State and Alberta .. quite a crowd to meet with 250 guests at Chemainus.

More news as it happens ... but we already know that the Victoria Gaelic Choir will be in Scotland shortly so expect some early spin off there and several other Murals Centres are already claiming Scottish heritage ..... and Karl Schutz is of course in attendance.

5:45pm	Princess Mary's Canadian Scottish Regiment Pipes and Drums parade down the main street of Chemainus to the theatre
6-6:30pm	Pipes and drums played in theatre lobby while guests arrive and take their seats in the restaurant

6:30pm	The Much Honoured Baron and Lady of Prestoungrange arrive accompanied by The Much Honoured Baron of Dolphinstoun and are piped to their seats by their personal pipers when all stand for

Supper begins with a welcome and opening remarks by the Chairman John Davidson including an introduction to the VIP guests Scotland's Greeting from the Patron The Much Honoured Baron of Prestoungrange Entrance of The Haggis piped in and escorted by the honour guard of Princess Mary's Canadian Scottish Regiment. Address to The Haggis delivered by John Davidson
